[...] So it looks like WMA has secured a spot on Yi’s roster of agents. WMA will control all of Yi’s “off the court” deals and Dan Fegen will handle his contractual negotiations with NBA teams. The interesting point is that WMA does not seem concerned in the slightest about Yi playing in Milwaukee (instead of a larger American market). Contrast that to how Dan Fegen felt right after his client was picked by the Bucks [What Would Ari Do?]. [...]

If Yi sat out an entire year, he would never live up the hype surrounding him the next year. He would have an entire year of hype around him. Only LeBron was able to pull it off.
Check me Yi article at www.clutch3.com

I agree with Austin. It is going to be hard enough for Yi's firm to generate huge marketing deals for the "next Yao Ming". But Americans were skeptical of him even before Yi got drafted, and now that he is holding out and showing that he cares more about himself than the team, his stock is plummeting. No company wants anything to do with this player right now. He needs to get to camp, say all the right things, and actually prove that he was even worth the lottery pick. This was the best draft in recent memory and there will be a lot of guys still playing in 8 years from now, will Yi be one of them? I personally think he is a 7 foot shooting guard and needs to learn to play like a big man. The Bucks only made this pick for the extra fans they would get in China, since they already have VIllanueva at the 3 and Redd at the 2. Theres no way Yi could play the 4. he would get owned in the east, which is considerably worse than the west. Ari needs to get in control here.

Dan Fegan should do what is in the best interest of his client, Yi. This should always be the case and its no different here. Milwaukee provides Yi with a win-win situation. He can learn from Bogut and Villaneuva much like last years #1 pick Barganani did from Chris Bosh, as well as not have all the media scrutiny of a big market like LA or NY watching his every move. If Yi performs to his immense potential then marketing dollars will come and Yi, Fegan and Assoc. and his chinese team can cash in. Playing well cures all ills.
