The fee sucks, but you assumed wrong. I paid the $1300 and I am registered in the state of Florida. Look it up if you want to.

Thank you for the input Gunther. A friend of mine did an internship with an agent and told me how the agent wouldnt recruit in states like flordia, cali, and texas. Yes those states do have the best talent/schools, but he said the fees are over 1000 and its just not worth the risk because you arent guaranteed to land a hot prospect. I thought represent asked a good question because the odds dynasty has 1,200 in their pocket to recruit in florida isnt too high (although it is possible because this site generates about 9000 in revenue). Once the player graduates you can recruit them and not get in trouble right? I am curious what states darren is registered in because if hes not registered in florida and recruited lara this season the UAAA might have been violated. This is an interesting discussion if anyone can help me understand these rules better please respond, thanks.

I think the registration fees vary from state to state. But yes, all agents need to be registered with the state (some are governed by the UAAA and some are not and don't likely require registration). For example, if Darren is using his connections with the Gators, he probably has to pay an annual state license fee. Some schools probably also charge, but others just require filling out forms and sending them into the compliance office. The agent industry doesn't seem like the ethical agents who follow these policies will actually come out with clients, unfortunately. You can look at the link below, which I think says that Darren or Dynasty would have to pay over $1,200 to be registered. That's a lot of batting gloves for Lara. Darren seems to be taking a pretty smart route (from the standpoint that he won't have to spend money to register) in recruiting players that are not in college (hence his difficult task to place these probably good players who all want a shot at the league in the PBL or Kazahkstan). Agents not only need to be cool with connections and knowledge how to have fun...an eye for talent also helps...how can an agent justify taking any money from a basketball player making less than $30,000 a year....Biggie will tell you, hoop dreams deflate.

For football do you need to be registered in the states you recruit in? how much of an expense has this been to ensure that you arent breaking state regulations?
