I am not sure there are many tournament organizers who actually make a killing. There are a few who do well financially, but I doubt even my friends, the Pump brothers, make a million. A half million maybe? How many college basketball coaches are north of $1 mil? Maybe coaches are getting gouged, but it's hard to muster any sympathy in the greater context of all that is wrong with basketball. Now, if college basketball coaches are serious about rooting out excess, there are plenty who will argue that they deserve a collective pay cut. Personally, I don't have a problem with how much they are paid in the dysfunctional college basketball marketplace, but coaches should pick their battles wisely…especially in this economy.
