Back in 2007, Andruw Jones was signed by the Los Angeles Dodgers for a two-year, $36.2 million contract. During the second year of his contract, Jones was released by LA and picked up by the Texas Rangers.

Jones was recently signed (after this past season) by the Chicago White Sox for a one-year deal worth $500,000 with a possibility of making an additional $1 million in performance bonuses.

Here is a bit of background information on Jones’ Dodgers contract:

  • $12.2 million signing bonus
    • $5.1  million in 2008
    • $2.1 million in 2009
    • $5 million in 2010
  • $9 million salary in 2008
  • $15 million salary in 2009

After being released by the Dodgers, Jones signed a deal worth $500,000 with the possibility of earning an additional $1 million in performance bonuses. This contract is exactly the same as the one he signed with the White Sox.

Jones finished the season in Texas with a .214 batting average, 17 home runs and 43 RBI.
